Erika has been a teacher at the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, teacher at the State Police School and teacher at the Municipal Police Academy, was Deputy Secretary General of the Local Board of Conciliation and Arbitration and was Director of the Executive Secretariat of the Municipal System for the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents for the Municipality of Ciudad Juárez.

She has been a speaker at more than 100 conferences on topics related to the Perspective of the Rights of Children and Adolescents and Gender Perspective. Erika was a lawyer in a shelter for women victims of violence, their daughters and sons and is currently a prosecuting attorney in criminal and family matters representing women, children and adolescents.

Also is a consultant for Cohesiona Consultoría Social, A. C. in the design of a protocol for reporting cases of sexual violence for the accompaniment of children and adolescents, consultant for Arte en el Parque A. C. for the training of the Perspectiva de Derechos de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes, and consultant for DOCUMENTA, A. C. in the design of a protocol for reporting sexual violence cases for the accompaniment of children and adolescents A. C. in the adaptation and design of the course “Promotion and Protection of Children and Adolescents with adult referents deprived of their liberty” to be implemented by SIPINNA Nacional, the Inter-American Children's Institute of the Organization of American States (INNAP) and the Regional Platform for the Defense of the Rights of Children and Adolescents with adult referents deprived of liberty.
